Indian Scops Owl is a species found across southern Asia from Arabia in the west, through the Indian Subcontinent, and till Indonesia in Southeast Asia. It is a beautiful owl, about 23-25 cm in size. The species prefers forests and woodland areas and can occur in human habitations close to the forest.<\/p>\n

This family of Indian Scops Owl is a resident at Jim’s Jungle Retreat. The birds can be seen on their day perch in the dense trees and bamboo thickets and become active in the night when they hunt insects. The species breeds during summer and early monsoon when adults can be seen bringing feed for the young ones.<\/p>\n
