Jim's Jungle Retreat is a highly rated eco-sensitive lodge that offers an immersive jungle experience to its guests in over 15 acres of replanted forest. Only 18 independent cottages can be found here among water bodies, grasslands and mixed deciduous flora from the Terai planted decades ago.

Several water bodies, large and small, dot the property with lotus, water lilies and other distinctive species of flora. These water bodies make for an appropriate activity area for fishing for kids along with their families and provide a perfect ecosystem for birds, insects, butterflies, dragonflies and turtles.

Corbett is home to nearly 10% of bird species in India, of which nearly 600 resident and migratory species can be found here. At the Retreat, you'll have a chance to see these magnificent feathery creatures. Our curated birdwalks within and outside the retreat will take you to the riverbed, the Machaan, along our Mahavan, Python and Bagh Machaan trails, where over 150 species can be seen.

The dining locations vary, as each meal is served in different locations at the lodge. Bush dinners in surprise locations among grasses and trees, under the open sky in a star lit night, up on the machaan; at the open-to-the forest Golghar or at the forest view café with comfortable sofas and unique à la carte food options. Arrangements for private dining are also available at the Retreat.

A gastronomical experience awaits you with sublime mouth-watering delicacies from the hill hearths of the Kumaon, family recipes from the Raj and from the newabi kitchens of Rampur. The food is organic as it is sourced from the retreat's vegetable patch and village fields nearby.

Half Day (3-4 hrs). An opportunity to traverse deep into the Corbett National Park; through its hills, streams and dense jungles increasing the chance of animal encounters.
(5-15 kms, 1.5-3 hrs) Cycle through plantation forests of the buffer zone to nearby villages as a local guide informs you about the culture and lifestyle of the indigenous Gujjar people.
A program that includes deciphering the many secrets of our jungles: the interdependent relationships between species, fascinating animal behaviour, and why humans need to preserve forests.
Learn about Jim Corbett exploring the sights, sounds and smells of the surrounding forests as you trek into the jungle escorted by a trained naturalist. The Naturalist introduces you to the jungle ecology.
The Jim Corbett Heritage Trail, managed by the villagers, provides a unique firsthand experience of work done in development of the model Bhabhar village which was settled by Jim Corbett where he rehabilitated 40 families.
Go fishing on the banks of the river Ramganga. Enjoy the thrills of a picnic by the river or just wade in the clear waters. Witness the sight of otter families and wildlife along the river's length .
Grasslands that previously were village fields, interspersed by densely wooded forests and streams. A fine example of forest reclamation done right.
Dhikala contains a diverse range of habitat that is widely considered to be the prime habitat for the tiger and the elephant. Zone opens 15th November.
The mixed forest and plantation forest attracts scores of Sambar deer, keenly prowled by the tiger!

Food, guides, evening films on tigers etc around the camp fire were perfect! Loved watching and hearing the animals from our cottage balcony and the kids thought it was fantastic.Lots of fun to be had around camp as well as outside.

We had a super fun time! The hospitality of the staff is stellar. Extremely helpful, knowledgeable and warm. The whole environment and feel of the place is perfect for a jungle getaway. The food is excellent- fresh, organic and tasty. Overall a great experience and will definitely visit again!

"My wife and I stayed at Jim's Jungle Retreat in November as part of our honeymoon. It was a wonderful place to relax in complete peace - I've never felt so rested! The flora, bird and insect life in the resort itself is like something from a Kipling novel while the walks and safaris offer sightings of bigger fauna; we saw a mature male tiger at 30ft while walking just a few minutes from the resort."

We were expecting good things from this place, but were blown away by the glorious intricacies of the lodge. I am a lodge owner, and this gives me enhanced appreciation for the thought and details that have gone into the place. There is a great little vantage tower overlooking a pond great for fishing owls. The in-houses naturalists were informative and passionate about their job.
